Trinity United Church Uxbridge

The Church is it's People

Embracing and extending the teachings of our Lord

Trinity United Church has the honor of connecting people to God, Jesus Christ, and to one another in a loving and caring setting. It is our mission to empower our community to become disciples of God by learning the gospels and practicing his word.

The word “Church” originates from the word “gathering” or “to gather”. This is why we so strongly cling to the notion that the Church is not a building or a structure, but rather, the Church is actually the believers themselves. We aim to maintain and foster a comfortable environment for our congregation to gather, build relationships, demonstrate love and share their knowledge. We believe that the Lord Almighty rewards those who take time out of each day to show their gratitude through prayer and spirituality.

Our Library

You are invited to borrow books from our Church Library which is located downstairs in the Lounge, a comfortable room for browsing, reading or studying. There are approximately 400 books currently in our collection and more are added every month, including titles by such favourite authors as Philip Yancey, Bill Hybels, and Max Lucado. Topics available include books for personal devotion, help for life's crises, social issues, parenting, biographies, fiction, and various reference books. The goal of this library is, as the apostle Peter states in his second letter, that everyone may "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ."
Trinity's Children's Library brings a wonderful ministry to our pre-schoolers, young adults, and the whole family. Some of the new titles available include "God's Little Story Books", "Prayers That Avail Much", "Moses and The Burning Bush", and "How Big is God's Love" just to name a few. Our growing collection of Veggie Tales videos hold great appeal for all ages - there is always a lesson to be learned! Music is also available. Items can be borrowed for two weeks at a time. This library is located downstairs in the Fellowship Hall beside the elevator. Happy reading, watching and listening!

Parking & Accessibility

We have a parking lot behind the church, with an entrance from Main St. There is also a public parking lot across Main St. from our parking lot entrance. Parking is also available on the street in front of the church; members are encouraged to leave spots near the front of the church available for visitors and those who have difficulty walking more than a short distance. Space directly in front of the church is set aside for drop-off and pick-up.
We have an elevator entrance at the front, and an usher is always present at Sunday services to operate it. Ushers (plus recently updated signs) will help you find whatever part of the building you need.

If you need a ride to any church service or event, please contact the Church office.

Our History
Trinity United Church has a long and rich history in Uxbridge. The congregation was founded in 1858 as a Methodist church. The cornerstone of our current church building was laid in 1888. In 1925 we became a member congregation of the United Church of Canada.
Trinity has long had a tradition of vibrant worship and commitment to studying and sharing the Word of God. We continue that tradition today in our Sunday morning service as well as in our ministries for children, youth and adults. We are an active congregation of all ages, with an average Sunday morning attendance of about 120 people. We are committed to the community of Uxbridge, and we desire to be a blessing in Jesus' name. We count it a privilege to be a United Church congregation serving alongside our sisters and brothers of other Christian denominations in this township.
